This course offers this training program on Industrial Waste Management. Since ancient times, humans have used natural resources to sustain their lives and relied on land as a means to dispose of waste. This posed no major problem due to the small size of settlements, limited waste generation, and the abundance of vacant land available for disposal.

However, as populations formed villages and cities, issues related to waste collection and disposal began to emerge. These challenges grew more complex with the increasing population density in urban areas and the expansion of human economic activities. With the advent of the Industrial Revolution and widespread technological advancement, industries became a significant source of pollution, generating vast quantities of waste that were released into the environment.
